21-year-old Sarosh Seth was killed in a crash in Ohio when he was walking on the road and a Ford Mustang ran over him. The incident took place on Wednesday at around 2.40 pm and Seth’s identity has now been confirmed. The driver sped through the intersection at North High Street, ran a red light and hit two people on the sidewalk near the intersection. Then the car raan into a Kroger parking lot and landed on top of a parked car with one person inside it.The pedestrians were taken to a local hospital and one of them, Seth, was pronounced dead. The person in the parked car was in stable condition. The driver was treated for injuries and was arrested but has not been charged yet.

The authorities have filed a charge of operating a vehicle under the influence which is Ohio’s equivalent of driving under the influence, against the driver. Investigators said alcohol and/or narcotics were believed to have contributed to the crash, although toxicology testing was pending. Additional charges could be filed as the investigation continued.Ohio State University said Sheth was a neuroscience major. “Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this extremely difficult time,” the university said.Before Ohio State University, Sheth was a student at Warren JFK High School, where he was a standout varsity soccer player and kicker for the Eagles’ football team.“The Warren JFK football community is devastated by the gut-wrenching news of Sarosh Sheth’s passing,” Buente said in a statement. “I am at a loss of words to describe how his former teammates, coaches, administrators, classmates and teachers feel upon learning of this unspeakable tragedy. But I can and will say this — Sarosh Sheth embodied everything it meant to be a Warren JFK Eagle through and through. Sarosh believed in family, faith, humility, drive, chivalry, service and empathy,” Eagles head coach Damon Buente said.
