Prince George has officially entered his teenage years. Prince William and Kate Middleton marked their eldest son’s 13th birthday by sharing a new portrait and a heartwarming video on social media, celebrating the milestone just weeks before he begins a new chapter at Eton College.Taking to their official Instagram account on Wednesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted a smiling portrait of George, captured by photographer Matt Porteous. New beach video offers a glimpse into family life
Alongside the birthday portrait, Kensington Palace also released a candid video featuring George enjoying time outdoors with his family.The footage shows the teenager walking along a beach, petting the family’s dog, playing cricket on the sand and climbing rocks barefoot alongside his younger brother, Prince Louis. In one clip, George is also seen smiling and waving at the camera while wearing sunglasses.Sharing the video, the Prince and Princess of Wales wrote, “Thank you for all the birthday wishes for George today!”The behind-the-scenes montage was filmed during the family’s Easter holiday in Cornwall and offers a rare glimpse into the private lives of the Wales family.George’s birthday celebrations come just days after he attended the Wimbledon Championships with Prince William and Princess Charlotte. Preparing for life at Eton College
The birthday also marks the beginning of an important transition for Prince George. In September, he will begin secondary school at the prestigious Eton College in Windsor, following in the footsteps of his father, Prince William.Although it has not been confirmed whether George will board at the school, Eton is located only a few miles from the family’s home in Windsor, allowing flexibility for the future king’s education.George has until now studied at Lambrook School in Berkshire, where his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, continue to attend.Born as George Alexander Louis at St Mary’s Hospital in London in July 2013, Prince George was third in line to the British throne at birth. Following the accession of King Charles III, he is now second in line after his father, Prince William.
