According to Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon, the San Francisco 49ers could trade for Maxx Crosby in training camp.The San Francisco situation is slow with both edge rushers Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams recovering from torn ACLs.Bosa could start Week 1, but “who knows how much of a factor he can be,” Brad Gagnon wrote. As for Williams, he is still questionable.But according to The Sporting News’ Horace Shivers, Mykel Williams’ recovery has progressed ahead of schedule.Niners general manager John Lynch said during the offseason that Williams would participate in training camp in some capacity.Rookie minicamp reports suggest he is working through mobility and resistance drills as he recovers from his knee surgery.The Niners are counting on Williams to re-energize San Francisco’s pass rush that was plagued by injuries in the 2025 season.But as per Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon, Williams’ questionable status makes it necessary for the Niners to look for a desperate veteran team with a win-now mode.And that veteran team could be formed by bringing in Maxx Crosby.They have not signed Joey Bosa yet, Nick Bosa’s older brother, but they could bring in another veteran who is still at his prime, someone like Crosby.It makes total sense to trade Crosby to an NFC team that “is ready and trying to win now, needs edge help, and happens to be located in the same region in which Crosby started his NFL career,” as per Brad Gagnon.
