‘Taunted woman, harassed’: Nashik family chased for 15km after altercation with group, attacked with rod | Nashik News



NASHIK: A family of eight, who had visited Bhavli Dam in Maharashtra’s Igatpuri taluka to enjoy the scenic surroundings on Saturday afternoon, was allegedly harassed by a group of local men, leading to an altercation, police said on Tuesday.According to the police, some men allegedly taunted a woman from the family, following which a heated argument broke out.Soon, more locals allegedly joined the group and confronted the family.After leaving the spot, the family was allegedly followed and chased by the group for nearly 15-20 km and attacked with an iron rod.The pursuit continued until the family reached Ambad police station in Nashik, where they approached the authorities.The complaint was later transferred to Igatpuri police station, which began an investigation into the matter.Police have arrested some people in connection with the incident, officials said.
