'One final chapter': K-Pop co-ed group KARD announces disbandment after 9 years; to release final album this July
KARD, one of the only active co-ed groups in the K-pop industry have announced that after staying active for 9 years, they will be disbanding after the release of thier final album and tour. (Instagram)

9 years ago, KARD made history by debuting as one of the very few groups featuring a co-ed system. Now, after a long time together, the group has confirmed that they will soon be parting ways after completing a few activities for fans. The news comes as a shock for fans who had been looking forward to the group’s comeback.

KARD to disband after 9 years

The K-Pop group announced through their management agency that they will part ways after completing the promotion for their first full-length album and a world tour. The group is already mid-tour, which is why the news comes as a major shock to many fans who had been looking forward to the group’s future activities.Their management agency took to their social media channels in order to share the announcement with the world. The official statement read: “After careful and thoughtful discussions with all four members, we have mutually agreed that this album and tour will mark the conclusion of KARD’s journey as a group. The members have poured their hearts into preparing this album and tour, and we sincerely hope these final activities will become cherished memories for HIDDEN KARD. We kindly ask for your continued love and support until the very end as KARD shares one final chapter with you in the way only they can.”

KARD to release their first full length album

The group also announced they will promote and release their first and final full-length album. The title has been set appropriately for their final comeback as ‘Where To Now? (Part. 2): NOWHERE’. According to the teasers that were shared on their social media channels, the album is all set to release on July 28 at 6pm KST on various global streaming platforms worldwide.KARD debuted in 2017 and has released 8 mini EPs throughout their career. Their debut came with ‘Hola Hola’, followed by ‘You & Me’ (2017), ‘Ride On The Wind’ (2018), ‘Red Moon’ (2020), ‘Re:’ (2022), ‘Icky’ (2023), ‘Where To Now? (Part. 1 : Yellow Light) (2024), and lastly ‘Drift’ (2025).

KARD’s final world tour: ‘DRIFT’

The group is currently on their ‘DRIFT’ world tour spanning three continents. They will next start their tour in Tokyo, followed by the European leg in Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Bulgaria. Lastly, they will have their final goodbye stage in Jakarta and other shows in the Asian continent.
